Behaviours That Stick

The Campus in the City team have been spending their Monday afternoon thinking about the ‘Behaviours that Stick’ event which is taking place tomorrow. In the description for the event, Emmanuel Tsekleves from LICA says that the event will ‘explore the emotional connection between home energy users and electrical appliances in order to design ways to encourage energy-saving habits’.
We wondered what the event tomorrow might look like (we won’t find out all the details until later on today when we set up), what these emotional connections might mean and how we feel about things in our home.
After a quick survey, we discovered that Joe’s favourite electrical appliance is his laptop, Phil’s is his phone and Lindsey’s is her hair straighteners. Though we all agreed that if we could get a robot hoover, we’d treat it more like a pet than something to use…
