Tomorrow (Wednesday 15th April) we will be welcoming local charity Safe Child Africa to Campus in the City for a day of awareness-raising, crafts and discussion.
Safe Child Africa work in Nigeria to help children who are accused of witchcraft, and support literacy programmes and housing projects for street children. To find out more about their work, please take a look at their website.
At Campus in the City, they will be hosting a day of crafts and activities and talking about their work to visitors. In the evening, they will be joined by the Director of Safe Child Africa, Ian Harvey, and Nigerian human and civil rights lawyer, Fanan Bien, for a discussion on the impact that being accused of witchcraft has on children, and the challenges of protecting them.
Safe Child Africa will also be joined by local charity CancerCare, who play an important role in supporting children and young people locally with cancer. The theme of this event is ‘No Child Should Live in Fear’.
