What’s Happening in Week 7?

We can’t believe we’re heading into Week 7! But it looks like it will be an interesting one…

On Tuesday, we will be looking at the ways we think about talk about different animals with the Department of Linguistics and English Language. Why are kittens always cute and cockroaches always scary? We will be joined by some real animals from Lancaster and Morecambe College, and we’re looking forward to hearing what you think about them!

On Wednesday, we will have a return visit from the Employment and Recruitment Service, so if you’re looking for work on campus or in the local area, looking for CV help or careers advice, or if you’re an employer looking to recruit new staff, please call in and see us.

Thursday sees  two events. In the day, we will be hosting our first of two events with the team from Defying Dementia, which will profile the groundbreaking research into Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases and raising awareness and funds. In the evening, two creative writing groups on campus will be hosting a short workshop and open mic session. Come along and give us a reading!

Towards the end of the week, we will be holding an event celebrating all things Morecambe, with a day of music, theatre and more. And on Saturday, we will be joined by the Science Hunters, who use Minecraft to teach kids about biology, geology and chemistry. Come and build a cave, molecule or insect…
