We have been joined for today by scientists and fundraisers for the University’s charity, Defying Dementia.
We are really pleased to have them with us as they work to raise awareness of the research undertaken on campus to defeat the brain diseases, including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, which cause dementia. As part of their ongoing work, our team are looking to develop new drugs to help those with Alzheimer’s and Motor Neurone Disease, and they are recruiting participants for clinical trials.
They are in need of funds to help continue this amazing work, so we will also be collecting donations.
Those of you who have already visited us today have been very generous in terms of time to talk about ways to beat these conditions and in terms of donations. Thank you very much!
The Defying Dementia team will be back on Tuesday 3rd May, so if you’re not able to call in and see us today, they will be back soon…
